We currently have an opportunity for a National Team Leader Projects tojoin our Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice team and play a key role in our high performance Project toNational Programme Manageryoull help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.

Te Kōwhiringa The Opportunity

Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice that proactively manages and delivers to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons 98 courts and 141 community correctional sites.

Were looking for an experienced National Team Lead to provide leadership across a national portfolio of projects supporting critical government facilities. Working closely with the National Programme Manager and key stakeholders youll play a pivotal role in driving programme performance developing highperforming project teams and ensuring projects are delivered safely on time and to a consistently high standard.

What Youll Do

This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:

  • Lead and support national project teams to plan execute and deliver programmes of work in line with customer contractual and business requirements

  • Partner closely with the National Programme Manager to manage programme performance including budgets forecasts reporting and risk mitigation

  • Monitor project progress against milestones ensuring delivery is on time within budget and aligned to quality-assured programme methodologies

  • Build capability across the Project Management team through coaching training workshops and performance support to drive consistency and accountability

  • Develop and maintain accurate high-quality reporting documentation and presentations for customers and key stakeholders

  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with customers internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to achieve positive commercial and service outcomes

  • Ensure compliance with Zero Harm safety quality commercial and governance requirements proactively managing risks and non-conformance

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes systems tools and ways of working across the national programme

Nga pūkenga matua Important Skills

  • Adesiredtertiary qualification in Construction Management Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Electrical or Civil Engineering

  • Adesired formal qualification in Project Management (Diploma or equivalent experience)

  • Significant experience working within a Project Management consultancy or Tier 1 construction/engineering contractor

  • Strong commercial and analytical capability with advanced computer literacy and demonstrated experience using MS Project

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence engage and produce clear concise written documentation for senior stakeholders

  • Proven ability to plan prioritise and report effectively across complex multiproject environments

  • Experience producing highquality reports presentations and programme documentation for client and executive audiences

  • Welldeveloped problemsolving skills with a proactive and solutionsfocused approach to managing risk and challenges
