Senior Development Engineer

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The City Planning and Development team sits within Councils Environment and Planning Directorate and focuses on services and advice to support city planning and development activities in the Cumberland LGA including development assessment city planning and advisory services.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Development Engineer to join the City Planning and Development team to provide engineering input and advice for development building and subdivision applications. This role is also responsible for undertaking specific development engineering projects as and when required.

The successful applicant will require:

• Degree in Engineering and eligibility to become a member of Engineers Australia
• Extensive relevant local government experience in Development Engineering
• Understanding of the assessment compliance and processing of subdivision and development applications construction certificates and associated engineering plans including traffic and of stormwater management
• Knowledge of the assessment of engineering plans associated with development applications including knowledge and understanding of stormwater management flood modelling and floodplain management parking layout and traffic management issues
• Conflict resolution skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Well developed written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines on a daily basis with possession of excellent time management skills
• Class C drivers licence
• WHS Induction Construction White Card.

About this role:

• Permanent full-time
• 70 hour fortnight
• Access to Councils 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO)
• Located at Councils Auburn office with frequent travel required across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Councils work locations

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

• Grade 13 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $2101.36 to $2416.56 per week plus 12% superannuation
• The commencing salary will be negotiated taking into consideration the successful applicants qualifications skills and experience related to the role
• Car allowance of $11608.48 per annum or a leaseback vehicle
• Civil Liability Allowance (3.5%)
• Mobile phone

What youll need to have for this role:

• The right to live and work in Australia
• Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
• Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Councils Health Monitoring Procedure as required.
