The anticipated salary range for this role is between $78000.00and $125000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications experiences and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive addition to cash compensation SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
The main function of this position is to analyze credit of US subsidiaries of Japanese and/or Asian companies to prepare credit applications. Report to a team leader and collaborate with relationship managers. Also the function requires communicating credit departments in the US and Japan.
Role Objectives
- Conduct analysis and research on the performance of borrowers and parents to assess historical performance and future projections; ie. cash flow analysis risk capital calculations.
- Gather support documentation to structure deals liaise with middle and back office for KYC purposes and assist in drafting pre screen memos for the Credit Department.
- Conduct quarterly and annual reviews of loan portfolio and handle a variety of system and procedural issues related to the borrowers such as internal grading monthly/quarterly reporting and other ad hoc projects.
- Assist with amendments new originations loan closings and funding and other credit events that may impact the borrower.
- Undertake research and analytics related to specific sectors regions or loans and stay abreast of current market conditions.
- Provide ad hoc reports for management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Formal credit training preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience working at a corporate bank or other financial institution.
- Highly proficient MS Excel Word and PowerPoint skills are required.
- Bachelors degree in Finance Business or Accounting preferred or equivalent education and training.
- Japanese language skill isrequired.
