We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Tankering Division playing a hands-on role in managing the commercial performance of a busy fastpaced operation delivering reactive and planned tankering services.
This is an operationally focused role working closely with depot managers planners and operational teams to ensure work is delivered efficiently profitably and in line with customer and contractual requirements.
The Role
You will take ownership of the commercial control of the tankering division supporting daily operations while maintaining strong financial discipline across highvolume timecritical work.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the commercial performance of reactive scheduled and emergency tankering works
Daytoday cost control margin tracking and validation of job profitability
Reviewing job pricing rate cards callout charges and customer agreements
Supporting depot and operations teams with commercial queries and decisions
Overseeing invoicing accuracy cost capture variations and dispute resolution
Monitoring KPIs performance data and trends to improve commercial outcomes
Assisting with tendering pricing and mobilisation of new tankering contracts
Building strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
About You
Proven experience in a commercial or finance-focused role within tankering drainage waste utilities or a similar service-led environment
Comfortable working closely with operational teams in a 24/7 reactive business
Strong understanding of margins cost control and high-volume service delivery
Confident handling customer queries pricing challenges and contract issues
Practical commercially minded and able to make quick informed decisions
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
