Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Masters Degree in school psychology or equivalent.
Completed 45 graduate hours in school psychology or related area in addition to an internship.
Have completed no less than a 500-clock hour supervised internship with school age persons.
Meets competency requirements set forth in Districts personnel standards as required under 34 CFR 300.23 and 34 CFR 300.136.
Requirements as set by the State of New Hampshire Certification Authorities and Board of School Committee regulations.
Valid drivers license and own transportation.
Bilingual preferred.
Specific Core Function:
To administer a variety of psycho-educational instruments to students who are experiencing difficulties (academic or behavioral) in the classroom. To help the schools determine if a student is eligible for special education services.
Reponsibilities of the Position:
Provide intellectual academic behavioral and personality evaluations for individuals ages 3-21
Provide psychological evaluations of disabled or potentially disabled students ages 3-21 through:
Interviews with relevant persons;
Administration of diagnostic instruments;
Integration of information and preparation for presentation to teams;
Interpretation of findings to students teachers parent(s) and team members
Preparation of written reports
Prepare educational and behavioral plans based on diagnostic data
Provide consultation and assistance to IEP team
Provide consultation services to teachers and students
Provide behavioral intervention services to students as needed
Provide individual and/or group counseling services to students
Lead group counseling for educationally disabled students as needed
Participate in writing individual education plans for educationally disabled students being seen for individual or group counseling
Specified Length/Hours of Position: This is an affiliated (MEA) position under the Teacher Association negotiated contract following the school calendar with additional workshop days.
