Your role and responsibilities
In this strategic and hands-on role you will co-lead our Social Work and Occupational Therapy Faculty. collaborating with managers and practitioners across CYP and ASC to design deliver and evaluate a range of programmes supporting entry routes into these roles and the continuous professional development of our existing registered workforce.
Youll be:
- leading the planning and implementation of learning strategies
- managing a team of learning consultants and coordinators to deliver a comprehensive workforce offer overseeing the training and commissioning activity to ensure best value and high impact
- working closely with learning and development colleagues across the organisation to ensure joined up and streamlined approaches to learning.
We are looking for someone who:
- is a skilled facilitator and is confident in leading workforce development discussions with practitioners and managers across all levels of the organisation
- has strong analytical skills to assess training needs and evaluate impact
- has excellent written communication skills for writing reports and creating learning programmes
- has a good understanding of current developments within social work and occupational therapy including national practice standards and regulations
- is able to think on their feet and is comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.

The team
The Centre for Learning is a new service grown from the CYP and ASC Workforce Development service and the Corporate Learning and Development Team that brings together all aspects of training learning and professional development across many different areas of the Council.
In addition to the provision of training the Centre for Learning plays a key role in the recruitment and retention of Social Workers and Occupational Therapists through its student placements apprenticeship and graduate programmes and the delivery of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment for newly qualified staff.
