Paralegal
Job Summary
We have a vacancy for a Scottish paralegal with a minimum of 2-3 years pursuer personal injury experience to join our busy PI department based in our Edinburgh office. The successful candidate will be required to run both litigated and non-litigated cases and report to the Team Leader and Partner. The work consists of a mix of litigated and non-litigated pursuer RTA work. The successful candidate will be taking over an active case load and therefore previous experience in a similar role is essential.
The successful candidate will require to have a proven track record of being able to liaise with and provide good sound legal advice to clients. They will also be able to demonstrate their ability to evaluate evidence and assess the strengths and weaknesses.
Hybrid working:
This role would be based in our Edinburgh office with a combination of home and office working (working 2 days in Edinburgh city centre office and 3 days from home). You would therefore need the infrastructure in place to work from home and will be provided with a company laptop.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include managing your own caseload of pre-litigated files using our case management system ensuring compliance with insurer clients service level agreements.
The role involves extensive communication with insurers clients opposing solicitors and third parties using our in-house case management system to manage your caseload. You will be required to work in a proactive manner to settle cases in accordance with key performance indicators.
Skills/Competencies required:
The ideal candidates will have at least 2-3 years experience of dealing with pursuer personal injury litigated and non-litigated cases.
The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and targets are all pre-requisites. The successful candidates will be enthusiastic in this area of law have excellent verbal and written communication skills have strong organisational and time management skills be computer literate and a team player.
