How youll contribute
ARegistered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
- Assesses the needs of the patients and develops plan of care for the patient during their surgical intervention in order to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Understands and applies the principles of aseptic technique and peri-operative nursing.
- Provides complete and accurate documentation for all operative records within the electronic health record (op-time) system.
- Possesses knowledge and demonstrates the proper use care and handling of all equipment instruments and supplies within the operating room environment.
- Accepts accountability for clinical care of patient
- Initiates and coordinates time out and supports all patient safety initiatives.
- Participates in teaching students orientation of new personnel and providing continuing education for OR staff.
- Attends participates and completes all required meetings in-services and educational programs annually.
- Assesses recognizes records and reports to appropriate surgical team members all signs/symptoms or changes in patients condition.
- Participates on committees and special assignments as needed.
- Participate in professional organizations such as AORN. Encouraged to seek certification as an operating room nurse.
- Maintains confidentiality with regards to patient/employee information.
- Supports and follows all AORN/AAMI/OSHA Standards and Recommended Practices.
- Maintains knowledge of disaster planning and can fulfill a role in specific disaster plans.
- Participates in reviewing revising the philosophies objectives procedure cards policy/procedure and job descriptions on a continual basis.
- Participates in quality control programs/ Follows Universal Precautions

What were looking for
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelors degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
CPR Certification
One year minimum of nursing experience and/or equivalent surgical experience
CNOR preferred
Operating Room circulating nurse/ASC experience preferred
