About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Anti-Financial Crime Subject Matter Expert Data Analyst to join the Global AFC SME team.

You will leverage your operational and procedural AFC and data expertise to transform complex data into actionable insights thereby enhancing risk mitigation ensuring regulatory compliance and driving operational efficiency across our First and Second Line teams. You will bridge the gap between technical data structures and the complexity of financial crime risks ensuring that AFC teams and other stakeholders have a specialized partner who understands the context behind the number.

In this role you will serve as the primary point of contact for all AFC data analytics inquiries. Your primary focus will be ensuring our reports are accurate consistent and compliant. Additionally you will be assisting in interpreting the data and presenting it. Your input will directly impact our operational effectiveness strengthen our overall AFC framework and enhance our reporting capabilities.

In this role you will:

  • Act as the primary source within the team for second-line data requests ensuring extractions are consistent and meet reporting standards.
  • Provide an independent analysis from an AFC subject matter expertise perspective to validate the results of Business decisions affecting AFC roadmaps processes and new tooling solutions.
  • Strengthen reporting oversight and resolve gaps related to operational tasks handled by MLRO teams in close collaboration with operational AFC teams. This includes establishing monitoring metrics such as handling times and volume forecasts which is critical for timely identification of regulatory risks.
  • Provide independent specialized and if required ad-hoc reports supporting our AFC functions in order to ensure quick reaction to identified risks.
  • Assisting on internal and external audits ensuring data evidence is submitted without delay and accelerating our overall audit processes.
  • Support the AFC Compliance Controls and Review team on designing sampling methods and creation of dashboards for Second Line controls on internal and external teams.
  • Respond to data inquiries from the AFC training team and provide them with data need for creation of training content.

What you need to be successful

Background and Expertise:

  • Professional Experience: Candidates must be able to translate complex Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) regulatory requirements into data-driven insights. Proven track record as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst. Experience in AFC investigations is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL for complex data querying and extraction. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Metabase Tableau Looker or similar) to design and maintain dashboards and reports. Experience with Salesforce is an advantage.
  • Internal Knowledge: As an internal hire you must have an in-depth understanding of N26s tools systems and internal ways of working.
  • Regulatory Fluency: Understanding of regulatory reporting obligations and the ability to ensure consistency across all reports submitted by the bank.
  • Education: A university degree in Business Analytics Data Science Finance or a related field (good to have).

  • Fluency in English both spoken and written is mandatory.
