Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer (FSE) to join our growing Electron Microscopy service team in Asia. This position is ideal for technically skilled individuals who are eager to learn complex systems and support high-end scientific instrumentation across the APAC region.

The FSE will undergo a structured training program to gain hands-on experience in assembly integration testing and installation of electron microscopes. After certification the role will focus on customer installations preventive maintenance troubleshooting and technical support throughout Asia.

Career Development:
This role is designed as a strategic entry point into a Technical Expert position and will evolve into a Technical Team Lead for APAC supporting the regions growing service needs. The successful candidate will progressively take on leadership responsibilities mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical strategy and best practices across APAC.

• Participate in microscope assembly integration and system testing during training
• Support and lead installations at customer sites across Asia
• Perform preventive maintenance diagnostics and repairs
• Provide remote and on-site customer support for technical issues
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve complex problems
• Document service activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Grow into a recognized technical leader driving best practices and supporting regional service excellence
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers as a key component of developing into a technical leader in APAC

Bachelors or masters degree in physics Engineering Mechatronics or related field
Hands-on experience with complex instrumentation or vacuum systems preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities
Language Requirements:

o Fluent in English (mandatory)
o Proficiency in Mandarin or another Asian language is highly desirable for regional customer support

Willingness to travel extensively within Asia (up to 5075%)
Ability to work independently and in a global team environment
Demonstrated interest in leadership and technical specialisation
