Job Summary
The Role:
Provide compassionate roundtheclock care to an elderly gentleman living in the beautiful Somerset countryside on a 40-acre property. Youll offer personal care companionship medication reminders cooking assistance housekeeping and emotional support. Youll also help care for a beloved elderly terrier.
Ideal Candidate:Essential:
- A valid Category B driving license is a genuine occupational requirement for this role due to the need to travel between remote sites where public transport is unavailable.
- DBS on the Update Service
- You have the right to work in the UK
- Level 4 English and IT literate
- Dementia experience (including sundowning would be advantageous)
- Minimum of 3 years experience of providing care for the elderly in their own home
- Male carer as this is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the nature of the intimate support services provided to female service users
Desirable:
- A desire to genuinely help other people and make a difference
- Resilient reliable proactive with a can-do attitude
