Responsibilities
The Well Field Coordinator provides leadership in protecting and sustaining the Citys drinking water supply by overseeing well fieldoperations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality raw water to treatment facilities. This position directs programs that monitor assess and protect groundwater resources while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The Well Field Coordinator collaborates with internal teams regulatory agencies and external partners to support long-term sustainability and reliable water production.
Minimum Qualifications
Must meet one of the following sets of qualifications.
- Bachelors Degree in Geology Chemistry Biology Engineering Hydrology Environmental Science Water Resource Management or related field
- 4 years of environmental regulatory experience
- 4 years of well-field operations experience
OR
- Masters Degree in Hydrogeology Environmental Science Water Resource Management Geology Hydrology or related field
- One year of professional hydrogeologic experience (including groundwater modeling)
- 2 years of environmental regulatory experience
- 2 years of well-field operations experience
Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region.
License Requirements
Must possess a valid drivers license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.
Special Requirements
Ohio EPA Class III Water Supply Certification (required within 12 months of appointment)
HAZWOPER Certification (required within 12 months of appointment)
Wage Considerations
Employees holding a Class IV certification may be eligible for higher compensation (P27).

Background Check
A background investigation and evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity is required prior to candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position including current city employees seeking transfer promotion demotion etc. into a classified position.
Medical Examination & Drug and Nicotine Testing
Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination including drug screen. Applicants offered employment with the City will be required to pass a nicotine screening. Newly hired employees must remain tobacco and nicotine free as a condition of continued employment. The Tobacco and Nicotine Free Hiring Policy does not apply to current City employees.
