The National Systems Group (NSG) serves as the technical adviser to the Intelligence Community (IC) and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence including electronics programs ground and communications imagery programs and systems engineering and launch.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) Policy and Capabilities Directorate identifies develops and articulates the path forward for the Intelligence Community (IC). P&C is the IC component responsible for synthesizing community-wide capabilities and policies. P&C prioritizes mission and technology areas to ensure integration across enabling functions such as data management contracting acquisitions and research such that the Community is strategically positioned. P&C advances the integration of mission priorities and capability needs across the IC to meet future challenges and opportunities in support of our Nations security. The Aerospace team supports P&C leadership decision making by delivering insight on the future intelligence environment with fact-based analysis on fact-based analysis on strategic capabilities acquisitions and capabilities. Aerospace is looking for a Senior Technology Lead for Space System Acquisitions (Senior Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering) role. This position will drive Aerospaces impact on the Intelligence Communitys space enterprise acquisitions.

This is a full-time position based in the Tysons area in the National Capital Region which requires 100% onsite work with the possibility of some assignments at the Aerospace Chantilly Campus.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Leverage your technical acumen and soft-people skills in working shoulder to shoulder with our senior customers to develop trusted-partner technical advisory relationships.
  • Act as the primary Aerospace advisor to senior leaders across ODNI on issues related to space capability acquisitions and integration into the IC space architecture.
  • Formulate lead and manage several simultaneous high-performing and fast-paced teams of Aerospace subject matter experts in multiple disciplines to deliver strategic analysis and study results for senior customers.
  • Mentor Aerospace team members to build up leadership capabilities and strategic understanding.
  • Help improve and accelerate executive decision making by providing deep technical understanding of technology advancements mission and capabilities needs and major system acquisitions.
  • Operate strategically to propose new areas projects and tasks to expand Aerospaces impact on enterprise space integration for multiple divisions and offices across ODNI and other IC elements.
  • Engage with and coordinate with stakeholders across Aerospace and other IC elements to understand mission needs driving future systems architectures.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for Senior Project Engineer Enterprise Systems Engineering:

  • Bachelors degree in applicable STEM area (Science or Engineering)
  • 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and applicable experience in engineering technical or strategic planning roles
  • Demonstrated effective skills in communication organization time and resource tracking.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to quickly analyze technical material and provide clear concise and timely assessments in support of decision making and strategic planning.
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • Advanced degree in applicable STEM areas or other relevant discipline
  • Significant and demonstrated experience and deep technical knowledge of aspects of the IC mission capability acquisition current or space system architectures or relevant commercial technologies.
  • Experience in leading technical multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost schedule and performance risk/issue management of the IC DoD or industry space architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering and Program Management of large complex intelligence systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Intelligence Production cycle and Capabilities related to collection data management and exploitation applications and capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with other intelligence community and national security space organizations working groups or senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker with the ability to think ahead and anticipate potential problems or identify patterns and make meaning out of overarching trends.
  • Knowledge and experience with the IC or DoD major system acquisition processes.
  • Experience in Strategic planning for corporate or government agencies.
