Job Summary
Mitchell Technical College (MTC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Radiologic Technology Instructor to join our accredited Associate of Applied Science (AAS) program. This full-time faculty position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of skilled radiologic technologists in a high-demand healthcare field while working in a supportive student-centered environment.
Position Overview
The Radiologic Technology program at Mitchell Technical College is a rigorous 21-month AAS degree that combines comprehensive didactic instruction hands-on laboratory training and extensive clinical rotations across a diverse network of healthcare facilities in South Dakota. Students receive training in radiographic positioning patient care radiation safety imaging equipment pathology and advanced modalities preparing them for successful careers as radiologic technologists in hospitals clinics and medical offices. Graduates are eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) national certification examination.
This position begins August 2026and plays a critical role in delivering high-quality education that meets JRCERT accreditation standards and industry expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years or 6000 hours of clinical employment in the Radiologic Technology field.
- Bachelors degree (or willingness to obtain one).
- Current credentials in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or suitable equivalent qualifications.
- Strong technical skills effective communication abilities and a commitment to student success.
Pass a state and federal criminal background check.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans for didactic laboratory and clinical courses.
- Assess student progress and competency in classroom laboratory and clinical settings.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement.
- Utilize educational technology and learning management systems effectively.
- Collaborate with clinical partners to coordinate high-quality student rotations.
- Participate in program assessment accreditation activities and student advising.
