Our company is located in Elk Grove Village Illinois and we are currently seeking an Electro Mechanic I to join our team on the night shift.
Job Summary:
The Electro Mechanic I will be responsible for troubleshooting repairing and maintaining industrial equipment and machinery. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems as well as the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on equipment
- Read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals to diagnose and solve equipment problems
- Replace or repair defective parts using hand and power tools
- Test and calibrate equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed
- Collaborate with other team members to identify and implement process improvements
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
- Understand and follow plant safety rules including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safe machine operation
- Work on motors contactors and relays using a multimeter to verify component functionality
- Operate advanced shop equipment such as band saws mills and lathes
- Maintain chillers process pumps compressors ink pumps and glue pumps
- Analyze and resolve mechanical and electrical equipment issues
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls and PLC systems
- Use required personal protective equipment
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or related field
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- You have industrial manufacturing experience or military experience troubleshooting repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment
- Industry experience with blown film sheet extrusion flexographic printing lamination slitting or related ancillary equipment is preferred
- You have PLC troubleshooting experience and knowledge of industrial motor controls
- You can operate a forklift
- You are comfortable with lifts ladders kneeling bending twisting and lifting up to 50 pounds
- You can work independently while managing multiple tasks during off-shift hours
- You are comfortable with rotating schedules overtime and weekend work
