Job Summary

Rate of Pay: 16.12- 20.63 per hour

Summary:

Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough Council are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber to join the Facilities & Environmental Services team. This role is focused on maintaining the safety functionality and comfort of council-owned properties. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks from initial 1st fix installations in new or refurbished projects to 2nd fix finishing and essential reactive repairs. This is a public-facing role requiring high standards of customer service and technical proficiency to ensure residents receive high-quality plumbing services.

Responsibilities

Install carcass pipework for hot and cold water sanitation and heating systems within council properties during refurbishments or new builds.
Connect and install sanitary ware including sinks toilets baths showers and radiators ensuring all connections are watertight and meet building regulations.
Perform scheduled checks on water systems to prevent future failures and ensure compliance with health and safety standards (e.g. Legionella monitoring where applicable).
Ensure all work complies with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and current Building Regulations.

Qualifications:

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Domestic Heating (or equivalent City & Guilds qualification).

Essentials:

Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
Proven experience working within council properties or social housing environments demonstrating an understanding of the specific needs of tenants.
Comprehensive knowledge of domestic plumbing systems including vented and unvented hot water cylinders and central heating pipework.
Full UK Manual Driving Licence (for travel between council sites).
