Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Walker State Prison provides direct patient care and supports daily clinical operations within a structured correctional healthcare setting. This role is ideal for a nurse who values consistency strong routines and working within a collaborative team-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care within scope of practice

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered

• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to RN or provider

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members

• Follow all clinical protocols safety procedures and facility policies

• Assist with intake sick call and chronic care clinics as needed

Qualifications (Required)

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Georgia or compact license (must be in good standing)

• Current CPR certification (must be active)

• Experience in one or more of the following preferred: Behavioral Health ER Med-Surg or Correctional Healthcare

• Strong clinical communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work effectively in a structured environment
