Position Description:
This position is responsible for developing an in-depth knowledge of Axalta Powder Coatings products through lab work and evaluation as required. Using this knowledge incumbent will complete evaluation and adjustments in an accurate and timely manner; the goal is to have the initial evaluation and approval or rejection with adjustment completed and communication with production team within 30 minutes. Associate must show the capability of making good decisions and getting others involved when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with salesforce R & D Supply Chain and Leadership teams to address any problems and performance testing and manufacturing of commercial products
- Review research and complete tests in support of product manufacture
- Provide clear and accurate documentation and direction of all decisions to meet requirements
- Champion system processes: SAP Datacolor Document Control Filing and Communication.
- Utilize product outcomes to determine product adjustment for future manufacture
- Audit and follow up on the effectiveness of the corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain any related Quality System Documents (ISO 9001 /TS 16949)
- Perform all lab duties including production of lab size samples application and evaluation of finished products and daily clean up and maintenance of lab area and equipment
- Communicate effectively between Axalta teams (sales QC R&D site Supply Chain etc.)
- Travel when necessary to develop skills/training purposes
- Other duties to support site quality initiatives
- Perform all tasks in a safe and reliable manner
- Navigate and perform activity SAP Datacolor Database
- Application of Powder coatings to complete all testing
- Follow Hilliard EHS&S policy requirements; Wear proper PPE ex safety glass static dissipating steel toed shoes gloves respirator the required areas
- Maintain all logs (Adjustment History Calibration verification Records on panels Finished Goods Log Sheet Batch tickets and all required signatures on them.
Qualifications:
Incumbent must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily and in a safe and manner. The items listed below represent the knowledge skills and experience required.
- High school diploma required
- Working experience in a related position is highly preferred.
- To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Windows.
- Ability to navigate and data entry in SAP system
- Ability to follow directions independently with little or no supervision
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Above average logic reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Basic math computer and reading and comprehension skills
- Good time management and ability to deliver results when needed
- Strong work ethic and personal motivation; a self-starter
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good hands-on mechanical aptitude
- Detail oriented with an aptitude for inspection
