Job Title: Certified Ophthalmic Technician
Location: New York NY
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)

Schedule:

• Shift: Day Shift
• Hours: 5x8-hour shifts (7:45 AM 4:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists in a fast-paced clinical setting. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic eye testing assist with procedures and ensure efficient patient flow while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preliminary ophthalmic examinations for physician review
• Conduct diagnostic tests including visual field testing (central and peripheral) ocular motility color vision and pupil assessments
• Perform tonometry tonography and related ophthalmic measurements
• Obtain and document patient medical and personal history
• Coordinate patient flow and assist with scheduling tests imaging and procedures
• Prepare patients for examinations and surgical procedures
• Calibrate maintain and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment (slit lamp keratometer tonometer lensometer etc.)
• Sterilize and prepare instruments for clinical and surgical use
• Assist physicians with minor office procedures laser treatments and operating room support
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical standards

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience in ophthalmic diagnostic testing
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining ophthalmic equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced patient-focused environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Certifications & Licensure:

• Ophthalmic Technician Certification required
