As an AWS Lead Software Engineer-Java/Spring/Kafka/Cassandra at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Rewards team youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs technical credentials and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience
- Hands-on experience delivering end-to-end solutions including system design application development testing deployment and operational stability in distributed systems
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages with deep expertise in Java and object-oriented design principles - Advanced experience developing microservices and enterprise applications using Spring Boot and related frameworks
- Proven experience designing and integrating event-driven architectures using Kafka and other messaging technologies
- Strong experience working with distributed data stores such as Cassandra including performance tuning and data modeling
- Deep expertise in AWS cloud services with practical experience building secure scalable and highly available cloud-native applications
- Expertise in automation CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery leveraging modern DevOps practices to improve release quality and speed
- Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements design development testing deployment and support
- Advanced understanding of Agile development practices including CI/CD application resiliency observability and security-by-design
In-depth knowledge of financial services systems regulatory considerations and complex enterprise technology environments
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Previous experience working with credit card rewards programs
