Duration: 13-Week Contract
Shift: Night Shift (5 8 hours 6:00 PM 2:30 AM)
Schedule: Tuesday Saturday (Weekend Required)
Job Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support a busy surgical services department in West Hollywood CA. The ideal candidate will ensure proper cleaning sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment contributing to safe efficient and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate clean and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness functionality and defects
- Assemble and package surgical instrument trays per facility standards
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (e.g. autoclaves)
- Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles and logs
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Monitor sterile supply inventory and assist with restocking/orders
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and report malfunctions promptly
- Follow hospital policies and regulatory standards for sterile processing
- Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to ensure instrument readiness
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing Technician experience
- Active certification required: CBSPD or HSPA (IAHCSMM)
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control standards
- Prior experience in a hospital or surgical environment
- Must have prior travel experience (no first-time travelers)
- Availability to work night shifts and weekend schedule (TuesdaySaturday)
- Active certification must be valid at the time of submission (no pending credentials)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical setting
