Under general supervision of the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) Student Services Center and Educational Opportunity Programs (SSC/EOP) Satellite Director the Undergraduate Academic Advisor provides individual and group advisement support EOP initiatives participate in outreach events analyze advising data and contribute to workshops and services that promote student persistence and degree completion across diverse populations within the college environment while alignment with institutional policies.

• Conducts individual and group academic advisement (including planning presenting advising and proactive follow-up) and summarizes advisement reports or other reports as requested by the CECS SSC/EOP Director or Associate Dean.
• Assists with EOP Freshman/Transfer Advisement transitional programs and admissions.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in professional development/training sessions as needed/requested.
• Assists the Director in developing promotion materials implementing/coordinating special events such as Admitted Matadors Day Majors Fair and community college and high school recruitment fairs etc. analyzes advising-related data and plans/conducts advising workshops.
• Assists the Director in planning coordinating and implementing advisement retention and tutoring services provided by the College of Engineering and Computer Science Student Services Center/EOP (CECS SSC/EOP).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of academic advisement practices policies and student development principles with the ability to deliver clear guidance through individual and group sessions and produce accurate data-informed reports.
• Skill in planning coordinating and delivering workshops events and outreach initiatives including the development of promotional materials and engagement with prospective and current students.
• Ability to analyze advising-related data and apply insights to support retention academic progress and student success initiatives within a higher education setting.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment including flexible scheduling supporting tutoring and advising services and providing direction to student assistants within an academic support setting.

Pay Benefits & Work Schedule

• Classification: 3082 / Student Services Professional II / 1
• The anticipated HIRING RATE is $5083 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $5083 - $7228 per month.
• HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends. Work schedule will vary from M/TH and F from 8-5 and T/W from 10-7 or M-F 8-5
• This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
• The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office 1 day remote); however this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
