Senior Project Manager Corporate Affairs & External Engagement for Obesity
What you will do
Lets do this. Lets change the this vital role you will work closely with the Head of Corporate Affairs for Obesity and External Medical Engagement to support strategic initiatives and ensure key projects and events run smoothly.
The Senior Project Manager plays an important role in supporting the external integrated communications plan that ladders up to the overall MariTide and the Obesity & Related Conditions goals and objectives. Working closely with leadership and cross-functional partners the role focuses on organizing key initiatives supporting medical congress planning preparing leadership communications and helping teams stay aligned on goals and timelines.
Success in this role requires strong organizational skills sound judgment and the ability to connect people and information across teams. The position also provides opportunities to improve processes support strategic planning and contribute to initiatives that strengthen collaboration across Medical Affairs and Corporate Affairs.
- Support day-to-day operational needs for External Medical Engagement and Corporate Affairs.
- Coordinate medical congress invitations and help support leadership participation in key events including on-site support in partnership with the Global Customer Capabilities and Innovation (GCCI) organization.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Medical Corporate Affairs GCCI and Commercial to develop and carry out communication plans tied to major initiatives.
- Support planning and coordination of leadership meetings working groups and governance forums prepare materials capture follow-up actions and insights and help ensure decisions and actions follow Amgens decision-making framework.
- Track project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Leverage digital tools including AI to streamline workflows increase efficiency and improve quality.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and help teams work more efficiently.
- Help teams work through issues by gathering information outlining options and supporting decisions.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide ongoing support to help meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and execution of medical congress activities owned by Corporate Affairs and External Medical Engagement teams.
- Coordinate leadership participation at congresses including preparation of briefing materials and engagement plans.
- Coordinate development of pre-congress briefing presentations and materials for internal teams and consolidate post-congress summaries and key learnings in a centralized repository for future reference.
- Help develop communication and engagement plans that support major congresses external events and data releases.
- Prepare updates and summaries that help leadership understand progress outcomes and opportunities across initiatives.
- Prepare presentations briefing books and insight summaries for meetings and external engagements.
- Build strong working relationships with partners across Medical Affairs Corporate Affairs GCCI Enterprise Communications Commercial and other cross-functional teams.
- Support planning and management of budgets and contracts related to congress and engagement activities.
- Assist with planning and execution of non-congress key initiatives scientific symposia and external stakeholder events.
- Identify potential challenges early and work with teams to address risks and keep projects moving forward.
- Track project milestones and key deliverables to help teams stay organized and aligned on priorities.
- Contribute to efforts that improve processes and strengthen collaboration across teams.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience
OR
Masters degree and 4 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience
OR
Bachelors degree and 6 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience
OR
Associates degree and 10 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Scientific and/or Operations and/or Business experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires strong understanding of project management methodologies tools and processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal / relationship management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of proven experience in Project Management Project management certification is preferred.
- Working knowledge of professional services suppliers contracts and outsourcing business models and tools.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant skills experience and qualifications.
