Nacton Church of England Primary School are seeking either an experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or an experienced Teaching Assistant (TA) with the desire to train to be and take on the role of HLTA to join our supportive close-knit team. This is a blended position involving responsibilities as both an HLTA and at times a Teaching Assistant.
Key responsibilities
You will play a vital role in teaching and learning acrossour small school in both the role of HLTA and TA.
As a Teaching Assistant:
- Engaging with pupils individually and in small groups supporting in class and delivering interventions
As a HLTA:
- Cover teaching 3 afternoons a week for PPA time (in year 2 and key stage 2) under the direction of class teachers
- Providing additional planned and emergency cover for teacher absence and release
- Teaching our small year 2 class of 14 children on a Friday
You will have:
- confidence in leading whole-class teaching.
- experience as a TA if wishing to progress to HLTA
- a strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- an ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
