A mixed secondary school in Nottingham is seeking to appoint a Design Technology Teacher to join its team from September. This is an opportunity to work within a developing department that encourages creativity technical skill development and practical learning across all year groups.

About the Role

You will teach Design Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 supporting students through the full design process from concept to final product. Lessons will include a combination of design theory materials knowledge and hands-on workshop activities.

You will also play a key role in supporting GCSE coursework ensuring students are able to develop strong portfolios while working safely within workshop environments.

The role involves working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a consistent and engaging curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Design Technology across KS3 and KS4

• Deliver practical workshop-based lessons

• Support students through design and manufacturing projects

• Prepare students for GCSE coursework and assessments

• Maintain workshop equipment and materials

• Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times

• Monitor student progress and provide structured feedback

• Contribute to departmental planning and shared resources
