Job Title: Medical Records Clerk
Location: Los Angeles CA 90033
Duration: 8 weeks (with possibility of extension)
Schedule: Monday Friday 9:00 AM 5:30 PM
Payrate - $24/h
Position Overview
The Medical Records Clerk plays a key role in supporting a fast-paced pathology department by managing medical records handling departmental communications and maintaining organized filing systems. This position requires strong attention to detail adaptability and the ability to work efficiently in a high-demand environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages
- Respond to inquiries and requests for information in accordance with departmental and university policies
- Maintain and organize confidential medical records and pathology materials
- Retrieve file and manage tissue slides and boards within the department library
- Provide administrative support to 15 20 pathologists
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain records using MS Office and Excel
- Assist with physical movement of materials between hospital locations (may require walking between facilities)
Required Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and personalities
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Prior experience in a pathology lab or handling tissue slides
- Administrative experience in a healthcare or academic setting

- Requires flexibility responsiveness and the ability to shift priorities quickly
