Job Summary

The Faculty of Education and StFX Online invites applications for a Part-time Academic Instructor as part of the off-campus Certificate in Outdoor Education for the following course:

Course Number and Title: EDUC 405G - Teaching Kayaking in Public Schools

Course Description:

This course is designed to prepare teachers to be able to engage in flat water kayaking instruction and to help them learn the pedagogical approaches that will assist them in promoting paddling as a life long activity. The course includes on-water and dockside safety environmental hazards adaptive equipment skill-based games and helps attune teachers to on-water risks. Teachers will also develop skills and teaching strategies for planning a progression of paddling skills for students n secondary schools. Three credits.

Start and End Dates: July 13 - July 31 2026 (subject to final budgetary approval)

Delivery Mode: In-person/Online

Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD or MEd with significant teaching experience in the course area as well as public school teaching experience.
