About the role.

The Shift Manager role at our Timaru manufacturing site is a key leadership position responsible for driving shift performance through strong safety leadership people development and continuous improvement in a fastpaced production environment.

As Shift Manager you will be responsible for the forward planning and daytoday leadership of a processing and/or packing shift working on site in Timaru across a rostered shift pattern.

What youll be doing.

• Lead operational performance on site during rostered shifts ensuring continuity coverage and safe handover across crews
• Champion health and safety leadership including incident investigations and corrective actions
• Drive continuous improvement through MDI Kaizen Six Sigma and standard operating procedures
• Own and monitor shift KPIs including OEE RTM DAM and Continuous Improvement boards
• Ensure food safety quality GMP HACCP and quality systems are consistently followed
• Lead coach and develop team members through effective performance management and skills deployment
• Coordinate labour and resources to maintain operational continuity
• Ensure compliance with legislative corporate and environmental requirements

What youll need to be successful.

• Experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment
• Strong people leadership and communication skills across all levels
• A handson solutionsfocused approach with a continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a leadership team
• Competence in Microsoft Office; experience with manufacturing systems is an advantage

About the team.

This role sits within the Timaru Manufacturing team and reports to the Production Manager. You will work closely with other Shift Managers and site leaders to deliver consistent safe and efficient operations while supporting engagement and capability development across the crew.
