Associate Urban Designer

Job Summary
The Associate Urban Designer is a senior-level role within AECOMs UP team which integrates landscape architecture urban design planning resiliency sustainable development and economics. This position focuses on leading and delivering innovative urban design solutions that address critical challenges such as climate change social equity accessibility and urban resilience. The role requires a multidisciplinary approach to create sustainable livable and economically vibrant communities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership:
Manage urban design projects from inception to completion ensuring alignment with client goals and AECOMs standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including planners architects engineers and economists to deliver integrated solutions.
Oversee the preparation of master plans urban analytics and public space strategies.
Client Engagement:
Act as a one of the primary points of contact for clients building strong relationships and understanding their needs.
Present design concepts and strategies to clients stakeholders and public audiences.
Design and Innovation:
Play a key role in the development of visionary and evidence-based urban design strategies that incorporate data-driven insights.
Address key urban challenges such as climate adaptation social inclusion and economic resilience.
Integrate sustainable design principles including green infrastructure.
Team Development:
Mentor junior designers and contribute to the professional growth of the team.
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Strategic Contributions:
Contribute to AECOMs thought leadership in urban design by participating in research publications and industry events.
Support business development efforts by preparing proposals and identifying new opportunities.

Qualifications :
**Qualifications**
- **Educational Background**: Degree in Urban Design Architecture Landscape Architecture or related field
- **Experience**: 10 years in urban design with proven track record leading complex projects
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in AutoCAD Adobe Creative Suite and GIS; strong design and visualization capabilities
- **Professional Competencies**: Excellent communication and presentation abilities; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
