VP Sales Employee Benefits (Producer-Led)

Bergen County NJ (4 days onsite; hybrid flexibility)

$175000$250000 base significant commission/bonus upside (OTE $350K)

Position Overview

We are seeking a high-impact producing leader within the employee benefits / health insurance space to drive revenue growth and lead the sales organization.

This role requires an active book of business within employee benefits. Candidates without a current book will not be considered.

This individual will lead from the frontleveraging and expanding their own book of business while overseeing the Director of Sales and broader team. The focus is on driving new business strengthening client and carrier relationships and building a high-performing accountable sales organization.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Established employee benefits producer with a strong active book of business
  • Proven ability to generate revenue personally while leading a team
  • Entrepreneurial growth-driven and highly competitive
  • Experience managing sales teams and sales leadership
  • Strong relationships within the health insurance / benefits ecosystem
  • Hands-on and comfortable staying close to deals and clients
  • Metrics-driven with a focus on pipeline conversion and accountability

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive overall company revenue through personal production and team leadership
  • Leverage and grow an existing book of business within employee benefits
  • Oversee the Director of Sales and broader sales team to ensure performance and accountability
  • Recruit build and develop a high-performing sales organization
  • Establish and track KPIs across all sales functions
  • Monitor pipeline close rates and revenue performance; implement improvements as needed
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients brokers and carriers
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships
  • Step in on key deals and support team members in closing high-value opportunities

Qualifications and Must-Haves

  • Active book of business within employee benefits / health insurance (required)
  • Extensive experience in the employee benefits / health insurance industry
  • Proven success in both individual production and sales leadership
  • Experience managing sales managers and/or directors
  • Strong business acumen and executive presence
  • Ability to build structure enforce accountability and drive consistent growth
