Description
- Provide legal counsel on a wide range of issues arising in the companys day-to-day operations including manufacturing construction supply chain and commercial matters.
- Review draft and negotiate a broad range of agreements including construction contracts manufacturing and fabrication agreements supply agreements master service agreements purchase orders vendor agreements equipment procurement agreements product sales agreements and strategic partnership agreements.
- Evaluate contractual and operational risk and develop practical solutions that align legal protections with business objectives.
- Support corporate governance and compliance initiatives for multiple operating divisions and subsidiaries.
- Advise the General Counsel and operational leadership on contractual risk dispute resolution strategies claims management and litigation matters.
- Assist in the management of construction claims schedule disputes change order disputes and project-related litigation.
- Coordinate with risk management insurance carriers and brokers regarding claims insurance coverage and dispute resolution.
- Oversee and manage outside counsel relationships to ensure efficient and cost-effective legal services.
- Develop and implement improvements to internal contract processes legal workflows and risk management procedures.
- Monitor and anticipate legal risks affecting the companys operations and recommend strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Support administrative law and regulatory matters including licensing issues and hearings before governmental boards or regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with executive leadership operations finance procurement manufacturing leadership and project teams.
- Provide mentorship or supervision of junior legal staff contract administrators or legal support personnel as assigned.
- Perform other legal or business support duties as assigned.
- Strong analytical ability to assess complex legal issues and develop practical business-focused solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills addressing both legal and commercial considerations.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to make timely decisions in complex situations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external advisors.
- High level of integrity professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to mentor or supervise junior legal staff as assigned
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand talk hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer telephone and other office equipment.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Colorado or ability to obtain admission within a reasonable period of time.
- Minimum ten (10) years of legal experience including a combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred.
- Experience supporting construction manufacturing engineering or industrial companies strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations supply chain fabrication or industrial production environments strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial contracting risk management and dispute resolution.
- Strong legal writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and practically to business teams.
- Business-oriented mindset with a practical and collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Experience managing outside counsel and coordinating litigation strategy is preferred.
- Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues.
