NAMI advocates for all who are affected by mental illness both the individuals and the people in their lives. We work to address disparities and injustices and to promote dignity and inclusion for all people with mental illness and their addition to being advocates we educate we listen and we lead as evidenced by our public awareness campaigns the range of programs we provide and our strong public policy.
We currently have an opening for Senior Manager Direct Response Fundraising. The Senior Manager Direct Response Fundraising owns the planning execution and optimization of NAMIs national direct response fundraising program across mail email SMS paid and organic social and web generating approximately $4M-5M annually in individual giving revenue.
This full-time position can be remote or based at NAMI Headquarters in Arlington VA on a hybrid basis.
Salary Range: $88k - $93k
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a high-volume production schedule workflow and budget of NAMIs direct marketing consulting firm to develop and execute successful national print and email solicitations including campaign testing optimization and performance analysis across channels translating results into actionable recommendations.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize direct response fundraising systems workflows and donor experiences using performance data and industry best practices.
- Collaborate across departments particularly with Finance and MarCom to guarantee operational approvals smooth functioning and optimize campaigns build information bridges and explore new opportunities for stewardship and fundraising.
- Work with program staff to gain a strong understanding of NAMIs work and track organizational accomplishments/assets to develop appeal content marketing materials and stewardship communications for NAMI donors and prospects.
- Lead collaboration with vendors and explore in-house methods to best engage social media donors and fundraisers and maximize social media revenue.
- Oversee and manage external vendors (printers designers mail house) to ensure the timely distribution of in-house development mailings.
- Lead digital direct response fundraising efforts including in-house email and social communications paid and organic social media and online advertising around cornerstone campaigns.
- Own data-driven direct response infrastructure and analytics including Salesforce campaign setup tracking attribution reporting and list optimization in collaboration with Development Operations.
- Utilize mail and email to oversee stewardship retention (below $1000) upgrade and acquisition campaigns for NAMIs community of donors
- Manage digital new donor journeys and ongoing engagement flows.
- Identify cultivate and steward donor relationships for use in fundraising campaigns including testimonial solicitation story development content approvals and ongoing donor engagement.
- Grow NAMIs online giving presence through both paid and organic social media.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree
- 5 - 7 years of related experience
- Knowledge of best practice in fundraising and data management
- Strong writing and editorial skills and a strong eye for detail. (Writing samples may be requested)
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage processes prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of donor databases (SalesForce strongly preferred) donation platforms (GoFundMe Pro strongly preferred) and other communication technologies (MailChimp strongly preferred).
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new software programs and systems. Experience with basic design tools and WordPress is a plus.
