We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our team and take ownership of key revenue streams across corporate government meetings and events wholesale leisure and inbound markets.

This is a hands-on stand-alone Business Development role suited to a sales professional who enjoys working autonomously managing their own accounts winning new business and being directly accountable for results rather than leading a large sales team.

Reporting directly to the General Manager you will play a key role in driving revenue growth strengthening key relationships and positioning the hotel strongly across local interstate and national markets.

About The Role:

As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and strengthening market presence across multiple segments while working closely with the General Manager and hotel leadership team.

What youll be doing

  • Driving new business acquisition across corporate government meetings and events and leisure markets
  • Managing and growing a portfolio of key accounts contracts and RFPs
  • Developing and executing structured sales strategies call plans and bid responses
  • Leading client meetings presentations site inspections and negotiations
  • Representing the hotel at industry events trade shows and networking functions
  • Supporting conference and event business from enquiry through to conversion and contract
  • Working closely with internal departments including reservations food and beverage and meeting and events to ensure seamless delivery
  • Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records forecasting and sales reporting
  • Promoting Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston and the broader Grand Hotel International portfolio

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Must have valid working rights in Australia
  • Proven experience in a Business Development Manager Sales Manager or similar role ideally within hotels hospitality or tourism
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations and commercial revenue drivers
  • Demonstrated success securing corporate government or conference business
  • Excellent relationshipbuilding communication and negotiation skills
  • A selfmotivated resilient and commercially astute approach
  • Strong organisation time management and CRM discipline
  • Comfort working autonomously while collaborating closely with internal teams
