The Department

• You will join a supportive team of numeracy specialists who view Mathematics as the foundation for success across the entire secondary curriculum.

Core Responsibilities

1. Academic Delivery: Teaching Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE) with opportunities to deliver Core Maths or A-Level Mathematics (Pure Statistics and Mechanics) for suitable candidates.

2. Numeracy Mastery: Breaking down complex topicsfrom algebraic manipulation and geometric proof to probability and statistical analysisinto digestible high-impact lessons.

3. Data-Driven Instruction: Using regular formative assessment to identify gaps in understanding providing targeted interventions that ensure no student is left behind.

4. Contextual Learning: Linking mathematical concepts to real-world scenarios including personal finance engineering and the local industries of the North Yorkshire coast.

5. Exam Preparation: Guiding Year 11 cohorts through rigorous revision strategies and mock examinations to maximize attainment in their final GCSE assessments.

The Successful Candidate We are looking for a teacher who can make high-level mathematics accessible and exciting for all learners. Requirements include:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics Statistics or a high-numeracy discipline (e.g. Physics or Engineering).

• Pedagogical Precision: The ability to explain mathematical concepts with clarity and to model high-standard mathematical communication and notation.
