Position Summary
The Nurse Manager II Hospital - Operating Room leads the implementation of best practice models and patient care delivery systems in the Operating Room. This position is responsible for managing hospital operations delegating tasks related to patient and family concerns facilitating collaboration with physicians and healthcare team members and ensuring a safe environment for patients and employees while maintaining clinical expertise and providing clinical supervision.
Must-Haves
- Strong Operating Room leadership experience
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in patient care delivery
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) AND minimum five (5) years of experience in business operations clinical health care or a related field
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports
- Registered Nurse License (Oregon) required at hire
- Basic Life Support required at hire
Primary Functions
- Create and advocate for developmental opportunities; build collaborative cross-functional relationships
- Hire train and develop talent for growth opportunities; strategically evaluate talent for succession planning
- Oversee implementation of organizational change best practices and industry trends
- Manage designated units or teams by translating business plans into tactical action items
- Manage hospital administrative functions including recruitment selection performance evaluation and management labor relations training and development and quality/risk management
- Develop continuous survey readiness activities including mock rounds and mitigating issues to maintain compliance and regulatory standards
- Monitor and control departmental payroll and non-payroll budget and other aspects of financial management and cost control/reduction
- Develop strategic partnerships with physicians subject matter experts and service area leaders
- Lead multidisciplinary hospital teams and hold teams accountable for performance
- Ensure emergency preparedness and recovery plans are current and staff are trained
- Lead the continuous improvement of quality and safety of clinical practices services and operations
- Hold staff and direct reports accountable for maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
