Position Summary
The Nurse Manager I Perioperative Services will lead and manage the Operating Room unit overseeing patient care delivery staff development and operational excellence in a 24/7 environment. This position is responsible for implementing best practice models ensuring regulatory compliance managing resources and fostering a safe environment for patients and employees while maintaining clinical expertise and providing clinical supervision.
Must-Haves
Strong operating room leadership experience
Minimum three (3) years of experience in patient care delivery
Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) AND minimum three (3) years of experience in business operations clinical healthcare or a directly related field
Minimum two (2) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports
Registered Nurse License (Oregon) required at hire
Basic Life Support required at hire
Surgical service experience
Perioperative experience
Primary Functions
Provide developmental opportunities for staff; build collaborative cross-functional relationships and provide coaching to drive performance improvement
Lead and adapt to organizational change implementing best practices and industry trends
Manage designated work unit by translating business plans into tactical action items and overseeing work assignment completion
Manage hospital administrative functions including compliance with timelines financial commitments data collection and budget management
Manage care delivery operations in a 24/7 environment by monitoring operational activities managing multidisciplinary teams implementing emergency preparedness programs and managing nursing services delivery
Manage improvements to operations and technology processes through cross-functional team leadership and structured problem-solving
Monitor and guide continuous improvement of quality and safety of clinical practices services and operations
Hold staff accountable for compliance with legal and regulatory requirements including Nursing Practice Act The Joint Commission federal state and local requirements
Investigate and resolve patient/family/member concerns regarding patient care and services
Monitor resource needs and equipment supplies and medications in assigned clinical areas
