Position Summary
The Supervisor II Laboratory (Auto-Chemistry Lab) oversees multiple laboratory functions including core lab testing specimen processing workflows and results reporting. This role requires direct supervision of laboratory teammates monitoring compliance with service guarantees and specimen quality standards and providing day-to-day guidance to ensure operational excellence and regulatory adherence.
Must-Haves
- 6-8 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or Laboratory Supervisor
- Bachelors degree in Medical Technology Biological Sciences or related field
- Florida Supervisors License in Chemistry
- Professional laboratory certification from ASCP AMT or equivalent certifying agency
Primary Functions
- Supervise and monitor laboratory testing operations for core lab functions
- Ensure teammate adherence to procedures and quality assurance requirements
- Oversee sample processing workflow from intake through results reporting
- Serve as a resource to teammates providing oversight and support for training and competency programs
- Monitor performance against established targets and goals
- Facilitate resolution of organizational obstacles and workflow challenges
- Manage teammate employment activities including hiring promotions performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
- Delegate responsibilities and monitor workflow distribution among team members
- Maintain active participation in quality improvement initiatives and compliance monitoring
Schedule
Tuesday-Friday 5:00 PM - 3:30 AM with one working Saturday every 12 weeks
