Maintenance Technician

MalaceHR is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support facility operations in Fort Wayne IN. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of building systems including HVAC plumbing and general facility infrastructure. The ideal candidate is hands-on safety-focused and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Chief Engineer and support daily facility operations
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders across mechanical electrical and building systems
• Operate maintain and repair HVAC equipment including cooling towers boilers pumps RTUs and air handling units
• Complete repairs related to plumbing drywall masonry asphalt gates and general building systems
• Conduct routine facility inspections and report deficiencies impacting operations
• Perform building rounds and communicate findings to the Chief Engineer
• Respond effectively to facility emergencies and support storm-related activities as needed
• Maintain fire life safety systems and generators
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures codes and regulations
• Maintain clean and safe work areas; identify and mitigate hazards
• Support after-hours building-related needs when required
• Assist Facilities Manager and Chief Engineer with projects and daily requests
• Participate in ongoing training and development
• Utilize CMMS systems to manage and track work orders

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in building engineering or facilities maintenance
• Strong background in HVAC plumbing electrical systems and general maintenance
• Experience in commercial and/or industrial environments
• Valid drivers license
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 feet
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
• Flexibility to work overtime or support after-hours needs as required

Preferred

• Universal EPA 608 Certification
• Knowledge of MEP/HVAC system design and application
• Experience using CMMS platforms for work order management
• Background in facilities services or property maintenance
• Carpentry experience

• Tools will be provided to perform assigned duties
• No formal on-call rotation required
