Job Summary

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Freight Agent / Freight Broker with an existing book of business who can generate and manage freight opportunities from day one. This role is ideal for a self-starter who understands the full brokerage cycle from prospecting shippers to securing carriers and closing profitable loads.

This is a high-autonomy high-reward role with strong earning potential tied directly to performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an existing book of business (shippers and/or carriers)
  • Source negotiate and close freight opportunities across multiple modes (FTL LTL etc.)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers
  • Utilize load boards and internal systems to cover freight efficiently
  • Negotiate rates to maximize profitability
  • Coordinate shipments and ensure timely delivery
  • Resolve issues proactively and maintain high service levels
  • Continuously prospect and onboard new clients

Requirements (Must-Have)

  • 37 years of freight brokerage / freight agent experience
  • Proven book of business (portable or active relationships)
  • Strong understanding of load boards (DAT Truckstop etc.)
  • Experience working directly with shippers and carriers
  • Demonstrated ability to generate revenue quickly
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

Nice to Have

  • Experience scaling a book of business
  • Multi-modal expertise (flatbed reefer drayage etc.)
  • Established carrier network
  • Experience in a remote brokerage environment
