Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Freight Agent / Freight Broker with an existing book of business who can generate and manage freight opportunities from day one. This role is ideal for a self-starter who understands the full brokerage cycle from prospecting shippers to securing carriers and closing profitable loads.
This is a high-autonomy high-reward role with strong earning potential tied directly to performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an existing book of business (shippers and/or carriers)
- Source negotiate and close freight opportunities across multiple modes (FTL LTL etc.)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers
- Utilize load boards and internal systems to cover freight efficiently
- Negotiate rates to maximize profitability
- Coordinate shipments and ensure timely delivery
- Resolve issues proactively and maintain high service levels
- Continuously prospect and onboard new clients
Requirements (Must-Have)
- 37 years of freight brokerage / freight agent experience
- Proven book of business (portable or active relationships)
- Strong understanding of load boards (DAT Truckstop etc.)
- Experience working directly with shippers and carriers
- Demonstrated ability to generate revenue quickly
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Nice to Have
- Experience scaling a book of business
- Multi-modal expertise (flatbed reefer drayage etc.)
- Established carrier network
- Experience in a remote brokerage environment
