Private Family in Manhattan NY Seeking a Full-Time Housekeeper

Position: Full-Time Housekeeper
Location: Park Avenue Manhattan NY
Schedule: MondayFriday 9:00 AM5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Extended Hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays until 7:00/8:00 PM (4347 hours/week total with overtime)
Start Date: ASAP (no later than mid-May)

Position Overview

A private family (Mom Dad 1 school-aged child) residing on Park Avenue is seeking an experienced detail-oriented Full-Time Housekeeper to join their household staff. This role requires someone who is highly skilled in housekeeping and laundry comfortable working alongside other household staff (Nanny Personal Assistant) and able to assist with light service during select evenings. The ideal candidate is proactive organized and takes pride in maintaining a beautifully run home.

The family is currently residing in a 4-bedroom rental (61st Street between Park & Madison) with plans to return to their primary residence nearby following renovations in early fall.

This is a warm respectful household with an established staff. They value professionalism discretion and teamwork. During the summer months the family spends most of their time in the Hamptons offering a lighter workload and a more relaxed pace while maintaining guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed daily housekeeping to maintain a clean organized and well-kept home
• Manage extensive laundry including ironing steaming hand-washing and care of delicate fabrics (e.g. silk)
• Oversee wardrobe care and maintain proper organization of clothing and linens
• Assist with table setting and meal service a few evenings per week when the chef is present
• Heat plate and serve dinner on Tuesdays and Thursdays with occasional later hours
• Maintain organization throughout the home following established systems and labeled instructions
• Handle incoming packages and general household upkeep especially during quieter summer months
• Collaborate effectively with other household staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Ideal Candidate

• Experienced in high-level housekeeping within private homes
• Strong laundry skills especially with ironing and delicate garments (or ability to learn quickly)
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational habits
• Physically capable of handling tasks such as carrying packages and household items
• Team player who works well within a staffed household environment
• Flexible and willing to occasionally adjust schedule for evening service needs
• Open to rare travel to the Hamptons if additional support is needed (not a regular requirement)

Requirements

• Prior experience in a similar role within a private household
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques products and fabric care
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Professional discreet and dependable
• Comfortable maintaining a consistent routine while adapting to seasonal changes

Compensation & Benefits

• $40$45 per hour depending on experience
• Overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per week
• $300/month health insurance stipend
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week year-round

Additional Notes

• Summer months (July & August) offer a lighter workload with no overtime while the family is primarily in the Hamptons
• Occasional flexibility to travel to The Hamptons in the summer months may be requested though this is rare
