Position Details
Title: Healthcare Manager (Hands-On)
Location: West Palm Beach FL (primary) & Newport RI (seasonal)
Schedule: Full-Time; oversight of 24/7 care team (with rotating aide shifts: 8AM8PM / 8PM8AM)
Compensation: $100000 annually (based on experience)
Housing: Provided in Newport RI
Overview An 84-year-old gentleman with complex medical needs is seeking a highly capable experienced and hands-on Healthcare Manager to oversee and coordinate his full-time care. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise strong leadership skills and the ability to manage both medical and personal care with professionalism and consistency. This role is critical in ensuring continuity of care as the principal has transitioned through multiple agencies and requires a stable long-term solution.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage a team of 24/7 home health aides ensuring high standards of care and accountability
Provide hands-on care as needed particularly given the principals max assist requirements
Coordinate and manage all medical appointments including scheduling transportation and follow-ups
Serve as the primary liaison between the principal physicians specialists and family members (who are not local)
Monitor and manage health conditions including diabetes (blood sugar regulation) and other age-related concerns
Oversee care related to catheter use and bowel incontinence with discretion and expertise
Assist with and/or supervise meal preparation aligned with dietary restrictions (diabetic-friendly)
Maintain detailed records of care medications and medical updates
Ensure continuity and consistency of care across both residences (Florida and Rhode Island)
Navigate and manage interpersonal dynamics within the care team professionally
Family / Principal Overview
84-year-old gentleman with significant physical care needs (max assist)
Requires full-time support due to mobility limitations and recent fall history
Currently supported by a team of aides
Family is involved but geographically dispersed; relies heavily on the Healthcare Manager for communication and updates
Has experienced challenges with prior agencies; requires a patient resilient and solution-oriented professional
Ideal Candidate
Qualified healthcare professional with extensive hands-on experience
Experienced in managing high-acuity patients in a private home setting
Comfortable providing direct personal care while also leading a team
Highly organized proactive and capable of managing complex care logistics
Strong communicator with the ability to work with family members remotely
Thick-skinned professional and able to navigate challenging personality dynamics
Committed to long-term placement and continuity of care
Flexible and willing to travel seasonally between Florida and Rhode Island
Requirements
Minimum 5 years in private care elder care or similar setting
Experience with diabetes management catheter care and mobility assistance
Ability to lift and assist a max assist patient
Valid drivers license and clean record
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
