Construction Manager (CHP Plant) – On-site, Ann Arbor (Michigan, USA)

We are currently looking for a Construction Manager to join a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant project located on a university campus in Ann Arbor Michigan. This is a high-priority position requiring immediate availability to support on-site execution and project close-out activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead on-site construction activities for a CHP (Combined Heat and Power) plant project.
• Ensure daily presence on-site (45 days per week) to supervise progress and execution.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of the General Contractor (GC) ensuring performance compliance and timely delivery.
• Drive project execution during final construction phases including commissioning support and close-out.
• Manage and track punch list items ensuring all deficiencies are properly resolved.
• Identify risks delays or issues on-site and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications quality standards and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical electrical civil) on-site.
• Report directly to the Project Manager (Atwell) providing updates on progress risks and milestones.
• Support documentation reporting and final handover processes.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as Construction Manager or similar role in industrial or energy projects.
• Mandatory experience in:
• Combined Heat and Power (CHP) thermal plants power plants or similar energy infrastructure.
• Strong background in on-site construction management (field-based role).
• Experience working directly with General Contractors (GC) and managing performance.
• Hands-on experience in:
• Project close-out phases
• Punch list management and resolution
• Commissioning support (preferred)
• Strong technical understanding of:
• Mechanical and electrical systems in energy plants
• Ability to work on-site full-time (45 days per week).
• For U.S.-based candidates:
• Must be local to Ann Arbor or nearby areas.
• For international candidates:
• Valid U.S. work authorization (visa required).
• Strong problem-solving skills leadership and execution-driven mindset.
