Sr. Citrix Engineer

Project Overview

Client is looking for an experienced Sr. Citrix Engineer to support and enhance its enterprise VDI environment. This role involves managing and optimizing Citrix infrastructure at scale while contributing to long-term architecture and automation initiatives. The position requires both deep technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Design build and maintain enterprise-scale Citrix infrastructure and contribute to long-term architecture planning.
• Lead automation initiatives including integration between Citrix and ServiceNow for provisioning alerting and certificate management.
• Build maintain and optimize VDI images for Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Citrix components (Studio Director StoreFront NetScaler/ADC) to ensure system performance and uptime.
• Provide updates and recommendations to stakeholders and executives in clear non-technical language.
• Manage and optimize connectivity between thin-client devices (e.g. Chromebooks Chromeboxes) and Citrix DaaS.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of Citrix engineering experience in large-scale environments (e.g. 5000 users or enterprise-level organizations).
• Strong experience managing enterprise VDI environments.
• Candidates must reside within a 45-mile radius of Chicago or Houston office locations.

Technical & Soft Skills

Core Technical Skills

• Deep expertise in Citrix DaaS Studio Director StoreFront Workspace and NetScaler/ADC.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP DNS firewalls and routers.
• Experience with VMware administration and SAN/storage concepts.
• Experience managing thin-client endpoints (e.g. IGEL Dell HP) in a Citrix environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience using ServiceNow for request fulfillment and automation.
• Familiarity with SCCM Workspace ONE or SysTrack.
• Knowledge of certificate management tools (Venafi preferred).
• Experience in leadership roles or as a primary architect in large enterprises.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present both technical and non-technical information effectively.
• Ability to work across technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to operate in large complex environments.
