Job Purpose Statement/s:
The Special Programs Coordinator provides strategic leadership design and oversight for key district programs including Career and Technical Education (CTE) AVID Talented and Gifted (TAG) and High-Dosage Tutoring. This role ensures coherent equitable and high-quality implementation across all schools including elementary middle high alternative and virtual settings.
The Coordinator is responsible for program design cross-site alignment data analysis and resource management. This position does not serve as the primary instructor but instead builds the systems structures and supports that enable educators to deliver impactful programming to students.
This is NOT a supervisory position and DOES NOT include evaluation of colleagues.
Job Qualifications & Licensure:
- BA/BS or higher degree (required) with a major in one or more of the following areas: Curriculum Elementary Education Reading Early Childhood Education Secondary Content Area or similar
- Valid Oregon Teaching License
- Experience in program leadership instructional coaching or district-level coordination
- Strong understanding of systems design data analysis and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and closing opportunity gaps
- Experience working across multiple schools or diverse educational settings
- Ability to lead through influence collaboration and relationship-building
Essential Job Functions:
- Program Design and Coherence
- Develop and refine a clear vision and framework for each program aligned to district priorities
- Ensure vertical alignment (K12) and horizontal alignment (across schools and settings)
- Identify and leverage connections across programs (for example college and career readiness enrichment intervention and acceleration)
- Establish clear implementation guidelines while allowing for site-specific adaptation
- Implementation Support and Alignment
- Collaborate with site leaders and program staff to ensure consistent high-quality implementation
- Facilitate cross-school collaboration and shared learning among program staff
- Monitor fidelity of implementation while supporting continuous improvement
- Support onboarding and ongoing development of staff involved in each program
- Data Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
- Design and maintain a system for collecting and analyzing program data
- Monitor student access participation and outcomes across all programs
- Use data to identify disparities and drive equitable improvements
- Provide regular reports and recommendations to district leadership
- Lead continuous improvement cycles across programs and sites
- Equity and Access
- Ensure equitable identification access and participation across all student groups
- Identify and remove systemic barriers to participation and success
- Align programs to support historically underserved students including those in alternative and virtual settings
- Monitor and report on equity metrics across programs
- Resource and Fund Management
- Manage budgets and funding streams associated with each program
- Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
- Allocate resources strategically to maximize impact across schools
- Seek and support grant opportunities where applicable
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage time and resources appropriately.
- Create a positive atmosphere that promotes cooperation with administration parents co- workers and students.
- Disaggregate and analyze academic achievement data to target instruction enhance student learning and inform teacher practice.
- Be available for consult with parents of ELs EL students administration and peers outside the school day as needed.
