Automotive Technician Shift (Mechanical & Engine Testing)
Job Type: Full-time On-site
Shift Hours: 4 days on / 4 days off rotating shift (2 day shifts followed by 2 night shifts 12-hour shifts approx. 6am6pm / 6pm6am)
Salary Range: Competitive salary shift allowance comprehensive benefits package
How Youll Make an Impact
- Conduct and monitor fired engine driveline and industrial tests in line with defined procedures
- Operate test control systems to monitor data and adjust operating parameters as required
- Build install de-rig and strip engines gearboxes axles and other mechanical test components
- Initiate and support repairs to test installations to ensure continuous operation
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation of enhancements
- Promote and comply with all Health Safety & Environment (HS&E) policies and procedures
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Automotive Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven hands-on experience with automotive fault-finding techniques
- Experience with engine strip-down repair or rebuild activities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- PC literacy including use of standard office and data systems
- Flexibility and willingness to work rotating day and night shifts in a 24/7 operation
Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward
- Previous experience working in an engine test cell mechanical testing or laboratory environment
- Prior experience in a shift-based operational role
Your Work Environment
- Working in a mechanical and engine testing facility with appropriate PPE provided
- Standing walking and operating mechanical equipment for extended periods
- Manual handling of engines components and test equipment
- Adherence to rigorous safety protocols and HS&E standards
- Working within a 24/7 365-day operational schedule
