Harwich
Mon-Fri 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Logistics Operator to join our team. You will be coordinating road freight movements through UK ports for a base of long-term valued customers. Energy and willingness to learn matter more than industry background if you are great with customers enthusiastic and organised we want to hear from you.

What will you be doing

Coordinating road shipment movements via UK ports both imports and exports.
Acting as the key point of contact for an established portfolio of long-term customers delivering a reliable and responsive service.
Making freight bookings and raising checking and approving freight charges and costs accurately.
Liaising with carriers shipping lines and port contacts to ensure smooth on-time movements.
Providing out-of-hours cover in alignment with ferry sailing times.
Contributing to process improvements we welcome fresh eyes and better ways of doing things.
Assisting with other teams as and when needed.

About You

Experience in a customer-facing and/or coordination role logistics background is a plus.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
Enthusiastic proactive and keen to take ownership.
Strong communicator confident dealing with customers and suppliers by phone and email.
Use initiative to proactively solve problems.
Good attention to detail especially around accurate booking entry charges and cost approvals.
A knowledge of customs procedures would be beneficial.
Happy with providing out-of-hours support.
