What youll do

During your placement you will provide support to subject matter experts within the team as they make key strategic decisions that will shape the future of Volvo Car UK. Youll contribute significantly to the success and future of the brand by delivering fresh ideas and viewpoints and challenging current assumptions to meet the needs of our future so an innovative mindset is essential. We are currently recruiting for an organised ambitious and driven 12-month placement student within our fast-paced Workplace and Sustainability Team to join us from July 2026 as a Workplace & Sustainability Placement Student.

Reporting to the WX Lead and working closely with the WX Teams and Sustainability Manager you will be responsible for providing administrative project and department support across the UK properties building and sustainability projects. The graduate will help manage daily administrative tasks related to the new headquarters building sustainability data and ongoing projects making sure information processes and stakeholders remain well-organised and in sync. You will gain valuable skills and experience in key aspects of Sustainability and Workplace including:

Retailer Facility Environmental Sustainability Annual Compliance coordination and Action
Plans coordination - process support monitoring of the inbox data validation scoring and reporting creation.
Coordinate information between Property Finance Legal and external advisor.
Championing Sustainability throughout the business.
Retailer Impact Programme - process support data validation retailer scoring and incentive roll-out.
Maintain internal records relating to the HQ lease (key dates documents contacts)
Support on projects across the department.
Assist with onboarding and coordination of third party suppliers (e.g. movers furniture vendors IT fit out teams)

You will have a real interest in Sustainability or Facilities management and problem-solving along with the curiosity to understand Operational challenges and deliver innovative solutions. To be successful in this role you will have:

You will be currently studying towards a sandwich degree in Business Management or a related subject you will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook Word and Excel.

How to learn more and apply:
Our placement is open to any university student who is in their penultimate year of a sandwich course (those who will be returning to their final year of study after their placement with us). We have a duty of care to our people and wouldnt want you to spend a large amount of time commuting so we require our undergraduates to be based within a reasonable radius of our Maidenhead office able to commute reliably when needed.

Once you have applied well review your details and if successful well be in touch to discuss with you further. Youll be sent an online competency assessment relevant to the role for which you are applying. Upon successful completion we will invite you to an Assessment Centre in Maidenhead or Daventry which will be held on Tuesday 21st April 2026 where you will meet the hiring manager view what our workplace has to offer meet the team and answer any questions that you may have. To support you we will also contribute to your travel expenses up to a certain amount which we can discuss in more detail if you have been invited to our Assessment Centre.
