Position Summary
SEACBEC Counselor adheres to the Arkansas School Counseling mission to support fully implemented comprehensive programs (Ark. Code Ann.) that are preventative and developmental. Focuses on career readiness technical pathways and postsecondary transitions for grades 1012 across six partner districts supporting 912 career development. Oversees recruitment enrollment scheduling completion credential attainment and postsecondary outcomes and serves as liaison among the Career Center partner districts colleges and industry partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Condensed)
Academic & Career Planning: Recruit and advise students; align courses to graduation requirements; develop Student Success Plans; support scheduling; monitor progress pathway completion and diploma distinctions.
Program Support: Assist program planning and improvement; track concentrators completers and credentials; promote non-traditional pathways.
Recruitment & Enrollment: Coordinate recruitment applications enrollment placement and concurrent credit with partner districts and colleges.
Postsecondary & Workforce Readiness: Guide college technical and workforce planning; support credentials financial aid FAFSA scholarships and work-based learning.
Data & Reporting: Maintain records; manage student information systems; report grades and required state/federal data.
Student Support: Provide counseling; coordinate referrals; participate in support teams; advocate for equity and success.
Collaboration: Serve as liaison among Career Center districts families colleges and industry partners.
Testing & Advising: Coordinate exams; advise on registration and graduation.
Professional Duties: Engage in professional learning; support program improvement; perform assigned duties.
Qualifications: Masters in School Counseling (or related); valid Arkansas K12 license; knowledge of state framework and ASCA model.
Skills: Communication organization data management problem-solving confidentiality and student information systems proficiency.
Working Relationships: Students; Career Center staff; district counselors/administrators; families; postsecondary and industry partners.
Evaluation: In accordance with district policy and TESS.
