The Team

We are a central data and reporting function that gathers and manages organization-wide data spanning financial inventory and operational domains. Our role enables us tobuild internal AI-enabled software and data productsused by stakeholders across the businessranging from automated insights to intelligent workflow tools. We foster acollaborative engineering culturewith continuous learning knowledge sharing and mentorship from experienced practitioners. Interns are treated as contributors: youll work on real features participate in team rituals (planning code reviews demos) and help ship solutions that make a measurable impact.

Responsibilities and Impact

  • Develop and enhance AI-powered software components(e.g. services APIs batch jobs internal tools) that operationalize machine learning and analytics use cases.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and data/ML practitioners toprototype implement and productionize AI features including model integration and inference workflows.
  • Support buildingdata pipelines and preprocessing modulesthat feed AI applications with reliable well-validated data.
  • Contribute toautomated reporting and insight delivery systems improving reliability performance and usability for internal stakeholders.
  • Writeclean maintainable tested code and participate in engineering best practices such as version control pull requests documentation and peer reviews.
  • Assist withdebugging monitoring and performance tuningfor AI-enabled applications and data workflows.
  • Communicate progress tradeoffs and outcomes to cross-functional partners anddemo deliverablesto stakeholders.

What Were Looking For

Basic Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelors or Masters degree inComputer Science Software Engineering Data Science or a related field.
  • Proficiency inPython and/or another general-purpose language(e.g. Java C# JavaScript/TypeScript) with ability to build software beyond notebooks/scripts.
  • Familiarity withcore software engineering practices: Git code reviews debugging basic testing and writing readable/maintainable code.
  • Understanding ofAI/ML fundamentals(e.g. supervised learning concepts embeddings evaluation basics) and how models are used in applications.
  • Comfortable working withdata formats and queries(e.g. SQL CSV/JSON basic database concepts).
  • Strong problem-solving skills attention to detail and the ability to explain technical work clearly to mixed audiences.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating or experimenting withML/AI libraries(e.g. scikit-learn PyTorch TensorFlow) or consuming model endpoints for inference.
  • Exposure toAPI development(REST/GraphQL) microservices or backend frameworks (e.g. FastAPI Flask Django Spring).
  • Familiarity withcloud platforms(AWS/Azure/GCP) and basic DevOps concepts (CI/CD containers like Docker).
  • Experience withdata engineering patterns(ETL/ELT orchestration data validation) or enterprise datasets (financial/operational).
  • Prior internship project or open-source experience building software products that incorporate analytics or AI.
