Position: Geography Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $65$73/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Author technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance in geography and earth sciences.
- Review and annotate problem sets using maps satellite imagery GIS output and topographic figures.
- Produce original problem sets and write reference solutions with structured quality checks.
- Collaborate with AI research teams to improve model outputs and training data quality.
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines and enhance AI model performance.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- PhD in Geography Earth Sciences or GIS; or MS with 3 years applied research cartography or GIS experience; or BA/BS with 5 years applied GIS cartography or field experience.
- Working fluency in at least two of: physical geography human geography GIS remote sensing cartography.
- Comfortable with maps satellite imagery GIS output and topographic figures.
- Clear technical writing; articulate reasoning step-by-step in written form.
